Welcome to BriarHill Gardens.

We, my wife Arlene and I, purchased this 4.1 acre property in 1973.  At the time most of the acreage was overgrown with briars, weeds and brush. After remodeling most of the interior of the house we set out to create our garden paradise.  Books, visits to public gardens, such as Longwood and Hershey Gardens, and the gardens of others we saw on various garden tours inspired and motivated us. As we added to our original perennial bed each new bed was created to compliment the terrain and the existing beds. Today the total landscaped area is approximately one acre with nature paths throughout the remaining three acres.  There are many specimen plants, several water features and numerous hand made garden structures and accent features incorporated into the overall design.

We welcome you to browse through this site. Take a tour of our private gardens, check out the animals,(wild and not so wild), visit the galleries under "turnings" for beautiful hand turned bowls and vessels.

We welcome visitors to our gardens. If you would like to see the gardens firsthand please drop us an email at...
